On Wednesdays and Fridays it stays open until 9pm, and those evenings are quieter than midday, not empty. Join us for a guided evening through the Denon, Sully and Richelieu wings, with a licensed guide who knows the way to the famous works and the rooms most visitors walk past. The Works and the Wings

The Mona Lisa and the Wedding Feast at Cana share a room on the first floor of the Denon wing, and the Winged Victory of Samothrace stands at the head of the Daru staircase. The Venus de Milo is on the ground floor of Sully, the Napoleon III apartments are on the first floor of Richelieu, and below Sully you can walk the medieval fortress walls.

Hours, Prices and Entrances

The museum is open until 9pm on Wednesdays and Fridays, with last entry at 8pm, and until 6pm on other days except Tuesday, when it is closed. A timed ticket costs €22 for residents of the European Economic Area and €32 for everyone else. The Pyramid and the Carrousel entrance stay open all evening, while the Porte des Lions closes at 6pm.

What the Evening Is Like

Expect other visitors: the evening is quieter than midday, not empty, and the room with the most famous portrait still fills. Bags larger than 55 x 35 x 20 cm go in the free lockers under the Pyramid, flash photography is not allowed, and any exit is final, so step out only when you have finished.
